Job Summary:
Under the guidance of the Director of Operational Planning, this position is responsible for supporting and assisting the Structural Castings Business Segment focused on driving Sales Inventory and Operational Planning processes at the Winsted Connecticut Machining operation. in the organization, planning, implementation, and follow-through in the deployment and refinement of Sales Inventory and Operational Planning processes. Correspondingly, the incumbent coordinates and leads activities that are designed to improve on-time delivery, inventory management, supply/demand visibility. This position does not directly supervise other personnel. Additionally, this position supports Operations, Supply Chain, and the Plant Manager.

Job Responsibilities:
- Deploy to Winsted, CT as part of a team to improve Sales Inventory and Operational Planning (SIOP) processes specifically around inventory management.
- Perform observations across the flow path and different functional areas, working with a cross functional team to document current conditions.
- Build a deep understanding of the drivers of the current condition and work cross functionally to develop and deploy solutions to improve SIOP processes with an emphasis on inventory management.
- Participate in the Howmet Business System implementation of continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on supply chain and inventory management.
- Lead the coordination with resource departments to implement improvements to drive down process inefficiencies and improve the accuracy of inventory management systems.
- Facilitate Kaizen activities, problem solving, and rapid improvement process events with both internal and external consultants, customers, and suppliers. This includes providing support to sustain all follow-throughs required to sustain the improvements initiated during those events.
- Cross functional collaboration including spending time on the manufacturing shop floor to learn and interact with employees.
- Performing other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications (minimum):

- Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain Management, or other STEM based field of study from an accredited institution.
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing environments, within Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality and/or Finance
- Direct work experience with data analytics and continuous improvement / process improvement initiatives
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as exhibit initiative and a high level of energy
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.


Preferred Qualifications:
Technical skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel Spreadsheet such as the creation of macros and other related data analysis skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Basic understanding of PowerBI (or similar tools)
- Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Basic Financial Literacy —knowledge of financial principles and practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives.
