Position Highlights

  • Performs appropriate physical assessments, evaluation and treatment for Reliant patients seeking treatment for substance use disorders (SUD).
  • Takes a detailed history of SUD, including past medical history and interval history. Performs appropriate physical exam as it relates to SUD.
  • Orders lab studies as appropriate. Assesses severity of patient’s SUD and establishes need/time for patient evaluation. Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings in the history, laboratory data, and physical exam to establish a diagnosis. 
  • Establishes and implements appropriate evidence-based plan of care related to patient’s identified problem(s) that may include SUD, anxiety, depression, insomnia.  Plan may include medication management, non-pharmacologic support and referrals if appropriate.  Consults with other health team members regarding proposed treatment guidelines as necessary.
  • Communicates effectively with all members of the behavioral health and primary care team and their customers. Maintains and provides precise and accurate documentation.
  • Contributes to program development, employee training and education, and support of BH Substance Use Services treatment initiatives, both in BH and primary care.
  • Provide clinical leadership and support administrative requirements as assigned.
  • Regular, reliable and predicable attendance is required.  A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required, as this is a hybrid position. Leveraging both telemedicine and on-site services.  
  • Ability to work remotely and provide secure telemedicine support to Reliant patients and employees is required.
  • Provides supervision and support of Substance Use team staff as appropriate.
  • Respond in a timely manner to consultation and eConsultation requests from primary care.  
  • Participates in on-call coverage and off-hours patient care as determined by the department.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Commonwealth of Massachusetts APRN license
  • Board Certified as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Active Federal DEA, X-Waiver and Massachusetts MCSR Certificate required or in process
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of postgraduate experience treating patients with substance use disorders and dual diagnosis

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge/experience with Epic EMR 

The salary range for this role is $104,500 to $156,000 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
