Position Details:
Schedule: M-F 3p-11:30p, 7a-3:30p, 3p-11p on weekends (looking for flexible availability!)
Pay Rate: $18/hour
The Spirit of the Position:
The Enforcement Supervisor is responsible for leading, directing, and assisting in the development of the enforcement staff. They must also enforce parking ordinances by issuing citations in an effective efficient manner, handle daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance projects, report to the operations manager with any issues or problems and interface with customers, handle disputes, provide effective communication between departments, co-workers, customers and clients.
Principal Job Duties:
- Monitor parking meters, lots and garages for vehicles in violation of parking ordinances and issue citations for vehicles in violation in accordance to policies and procedures.
- Monitor and assist in managing all event parking, crosswalks, and lot rentals as needed
- Adhere to the revenue collection process to ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures for the timely, accurate and efficient collection of revenue with integrity at the forefront at all times.
- Accurately key in vehicle license plates and other vehicle information and violation information using handheld ticket issuance system.
- Utilize a license plate recognition system in order to accurately issue citations.
- Upload handheld computer at the beginning of every shift to obtain current information required.
- Dispatch response as necessary throughout an assigned shift.
- Maintain and care for all company-issued equipment.
- Occasionally interface with university police or other University personnel.
- Responsible for identifying any safety or operational issues and reporting them to the operations manager.
- Implement and complete other projects, programs, and initiatives that may arise from the operation of the parking system.
- Perform vehicle tire inflation, jumpstarts, tire changes, and administering gas from a gas can safely.
- Communicate with staff on important information from the management team.
- Review daily work logs to ensure field operations staff members are performing to standards.
- Work collaboratively with the operations manager to evaluate operational consistency with LAZ policies and procedures
- Analyze data and provide presentations/reports to management on findings and recommendations for improved efficiency or value creation
- Provide excellent customer service to all parkers taking every opportunity to assist with questions and directions.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Parking industry experience is preferred but not required.
Experience:
- 2+ years in an on-street or routed position
- Experience in customer relations
- Strong Computer Skills (ability to operate specific software programs) and hand held devices.
- Proven ability to effectively lead a team and meet expected deliverables by management
- Understanding of Eastern Michigan University Permit system desired.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook.
- Understanding and knowledge of Eastern Michigan University campus and surrounding layout preferred.

Physical Demands:
- Willingness to work in the elements – heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
- Ability to lift, push and pull at least 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
- Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
