Our client is looking for a Crane Supervisor (Lifting Operations) for a permanent position, located in Aberdeen.

ROLE

The Cane Supervisor (Lifting Operations) should direct and supervise the lifting operation, ensuring that these are carried out in accordance with the method statement. The Crane Supervisor should be competent and suitably trained and should have sufficient experience to carry out all relevant duties. The Crane Supervisor should have sufficient authority to stop the lifting operation if they consider it dangerous to proceed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Authorized to carry out the duties listed in BS7121-7.2.1.
  • Fully conversant with the duties of all persons involved in the lifting operation.
  • Able to give clear, unambiguous instructions to all other members of the team.
  • Able to assess danger to the lifting operation from changed circumstances on site, and to call a halt to the operation if the risk becomes unacceptable, so that the appointed person can be referred to for further instructions if necessary.
  • If the crane supervisor is also a crane operator, then the Crane Supervisor should not operate any crane involved in the lifting operation being supervised.
  • Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed by GPSS Crane Division Managing Director.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.
  • Hold a clean, current and full driving licence.
  • Hold a current CPCS or NPORS card with the category of Crane Supervisor (Lifting Operations).
  • Have the skills and knowledge needed to carry out the duties of the Crane Supervisor as defined in BS7121 Part 1(General) 1998.
  • Have the ability to communicate technical information to client and other coworkers.
  • Be in good state of health.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and use own initiative.
