Sprinkler Design Manager:

Aberdeen – On site

£80,000 , Negotiable dependent on experience + Commission (OTE £100,000) + Company car OR £400 P.c.m car allowance + Fuel Card + Death in service + Pension + Relocation package if required + The potential for hybrid working if required (2 days at home, 3 onsite).

My client is a well-established global leader in the Fire, Security, and HVAC sectors, with a proven track record of delivering comprehensive solutions. Having achieved a turnover of £17 million in the last financial year, the company is now focused on expanding its sprinkler department, having recently secured residential sprinkler certifications. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a talented Sprinkler Design Engineer with over 5 years of experience, who is looking to progress into a leadership position and build out the current team further. You will play a pivotal role in developing the department with a goal of obtaining commercial certification in the future. The right candidate will have exceptional communication skills as you will collaborate closely with the project management and Business development team.  This position offers career progression opportunities, with the ability to shape the future of the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all design and technical aspects of both large projects and small works.
  • Ensure compliance with BS9251, BSEN12845, and other relevant standards from the start of the project to its completion.
  • Mentor the companies junior design engineer team.
  • Collaborate closely with the BD and Projects team to provide technical support and align designs with clients budget and project goals.
  • Attend design meetings and represent the company at client sites.
  • Lead customer meetings, site visits, and audits, ensuring that technical standards are met.
  • Create and deliver design drawings and oversee the entire design process.
  • Support the companies long term goal of obtaining commercial sprinkler certifications.
  • Oversee the expansion of the department.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Over 5 years of experience in the industry, specifically in sprinkler system design.
  • Residential sprinkler experience is essential
  • Additional commercial sprinkler experience is welcomed.
  • A Basic Design LPC/BS Qualification is desired.
  • Strong understanding of LPC, BS, and FM sprinkler standards.
  • Proficiency in Canute, and 3D services such as REVIT , BIM,OR CAD MEP is a significant advantage.
  • Experience producing quotes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to liaise with the projects and BD team.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities with great attention to detail.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.
