Our client a leading Oil and Gas operator based in Aberdeen are currently recruiting for a Subsurface and Physical Records Management Advisor to join their team based in Aberdeen on a contract basis initially. Ideally for this role they are looking for a a candidate with extensive experience working in E&P subsurface data operations/data management activities with a background in Oil & Gas. Job Profile Summary
The Subsurface and Physical Records Management Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day subsurface technical data (well, seismic, interpretation projects, etc.) and perform physical records management, including creating inventories, receiving data deliverables, storage, search and retrieval, preparation, digital
file management, archive record keeping, scanning/printing, distribution, tracking, and quality control. They are
responsible for managing geospatial information. This role also involves mapping, visualization, and sharing data through approved
applications. The individual develops and maintains GIS solutions, conducts remote sensing analysis, and supports 3D modeling
projects.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
?
Upload well and seismic data to the National Data Repository (NDR) database ensuring compliance with requirements of the regulatory authority when submitting final well data products and perform searches in this database on behalf of business users upon request
?
Develop, maintain, and ensure adherence to Information Management (IM) subsurface and physical records management governance for all physical records, including core samples
?
Organize, categorize, characterize and store Subsurface Data.
?
Maintain Subsurface Data Bases and provide geophysical applications support and monitor DB data quality.
?
Analyse Rights of Use and Entitlements on seismic data.
?
Provide user access to subsurface DBs and repositories.
?
Deliver Search support for Technical Information.
?
Develop and execute a Subsurface Applications Training Plan for technical users.
?
Manage custody of physical records and maintain updated inventories, ensuring efficient data retrieval
?
Coordinate all requests to access and view stored geological data and samples for internal and external parties
?
Ensure optimal performance, efficient data retrieval, and lifecycle management of data storage space and costs, including disposal
?
Provide support services to internal technical users and external stakeholders, including search, visualization, and delivery of rock samples and physical records
?
Ensure application Geospatial Information Governance and follow and ensure Spatial-Geodetic Standards.
?
Provide mapping and visualization of geospatial information and share it through approved applications
?
Coordinate the development and provide maintenance to customized GIS solutions, portals, dashboards, etc., to support business needs
?
Conduct remote sensing and imagery data analysis to derive insights and support decision-making
?
Develop and support 3D modeling projects for various applications
?
Provide support on geospatial applications to technical users. Develop and execute a training plan.
?
Collaborate with operational and commercial departments with well trades and asset sales records
Professional Skills and Experiences
?
Extensive experience working in E&P subsurface data operations / data management activities
?
Deep knowledge of subsurface data types and formats and Repsol approved data standards
?
Strong understanding of Physical Records Management Governance principles and practices
?
Experience in managing physical records custody and inventories, preferably in the oil and gas industry
?
Proven experience in geospatial data management, GIS customization, and remote sensing data analysis
?
Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS), 3D modeling tools, and data visualization techniques
?
Familiarity with data lifecycle management, storage optimization, and cost-effective disposal methods
Educational Qualification and Certifications
?
Bachelors degree in one of the Subsurface/Geoscience disciplines and/or significant equivalent experience
