This Process Safety Engineer role in the North of Scotland is a critical position in our Engineering department, requiring an individual with a strong background in Industrial fields and a proven track record of delivering process safety solutions.

Description

To champion a culture of Process Safety Excellence.
Facilitate process risk assessments and help develop safety operating practices to support plant operations.
Provide technical leadership and support to identify hazards, assess risks and provide cost efficient management solutions.
Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards
Develop safety training programs for staff
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety procedures
Lead investigations into process safety incidents
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety legislation
Collaborate with various departments to ensure safety protocols are followed
Continual improvement of process safety management systems

Profile

A successful Process Safety Engineer should have:

Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in process safety
Certification: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), Associate Safety Professional (ASP). Other relevant process safety certification
Strong knowledge of process safety management systems
Well-grounded understanding of Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR), Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) regulations and Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR).
Background in Process Safety or alternatively experience working in Anaerobic Digestion (AD) / Water Treatment / Chemical or Energy plants would be beneficial
Full UK car driving licence.
Located in the North of Scotland and happy to travel between the three sites
Must be flexible and happy to travel extensively.
