This Process Safety Engineer role in the North of Scotland is a critical position in our Engineering department, requiring an individual with a strong background in Industrial fields and a proven track record of delivering process safety solutions.

Description

  • To champion a culture of Process Safety Excellence.
  • Facilitate process risk assessments and help develop safety operating practices to support plant operations.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to identify hazards, assess risks and provide cost efficient management solutions.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards
  • Develop safety training programs for staff
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety procedures
  • Lead investigations into process safety incidents
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety legislation
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure safety protocols are followed
  • Continual improvement of process safety management systems

Profile

A successful Process Safety Engineer should have:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in process safety
  • Certification: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), Associate Safety Professional (ASP). Other relevant process safety certification
  • Strong knowledge of process safety management systems
  • Well-grounded understanding of Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR), Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) regulations and Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR).
  • Background in Process Safety or alternatively experience working in Anaerobic Digestion (AD) / Water Treatment / Chemical or Energy plants would be beneficial
  • Full UK car driving licence.
  • Located in the North of Scotland and happy to travel between the three sites
  • Must be flexible and happy to travel extensively.
