QHSE Advisor- North Aberdeen
The Role
To provide QHSE support, assistance and advice to the business regarding risk management, Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental matters. The jobholder will promote the use of all appropriate and professional QSHE tools, principles and objectives.
The QHSE Advisor will report to the QHSE Manager. The main tasks are to support and assist with maintaining the ISO Certification associated with the QHSE Integrated Management System:
- ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management
- ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management
- ISO 45001:2018 Health& Safety Management
As well as the Achilles UVBD Verify Registration and Audit requirements.
Responsibilities
Ensuring that all QSHE risks are identified, understood and mitigated as required. Promote personnel to STOP any unsafe work or intervene when identifying unsafe acts or conditions.
Demonstrating compliance with the QHSE Integrated Management System.
To use all opportunities to identify, capture and ensure that lessons learned are incorporated in all future offshore, near shore and onshore projects.
Adopting contingency planning to add value by minimising waste and disruption.
To support the QHSE Manager in the delivery of the annual Audit Programme focusing specifically on the planning, delivery, and reporting from internal and external audits and the Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements for Supply Chain Management within the business.
Assist with the QHSE review of proposed contract arrangements and engage with potential high-risk contractors (suppliers) to reinforce QHSE expectations and requirements with the objective of achieving Incident Free operations through continuous performance management.
Improve supplier performance so as to positively influence operational excellence and reliability by identifying through trending and analysis, areas of procedural and process weakness and implementing effective corrective action.
Providing support and input to project hazard identification and risk assessment sessions. Assist with the preparation, co-ordination and delivery of Project QHSE plans and verifying the implementation and completion of said plans through the monitoring and reporting of the Project QSHE performance.
Supporting Project Management in ensuring the adequacy and implementation of the requirements of the relevant QSHE management systems by reviewing and providing input to Project safety management interfaces, bridging documents, and operational procedures.
Attending Project sites to support and advise on the safe execution of agreed work-scopes and conduct site inspections, and audits as deemed necessary.
Supporting and participating in the Management of Change process.
Providing expert advice and support through leading or participation in the investigation and root cause analysis of incidents, accidents, or near misses. Reporting and recording information associated with the investigations and conducting verification on the effectiveness of any corrective actions necessary to avoid a recurrence.
Assist with reporting, management, and closure of non-conformances.
Requirements
Appreciation of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018.
Internal Auditor.
Formal Health and Safety Qualification i.e. NEBOSH or Manage Safely (preferred).
Member of IOSH or other appropriate professional organisations (preferred).
Strong team player but able to work as an individual.
Capable of establishing QSHE objectives that realistically reflect potential capability.
A broad knowledge of the principal health, safety and environmental legislative requirements.
Able to manage and record QSHE deliverables with a high level of accuracy.
Strong customer focus.
Proven ability to communicate well with operational, supervisory, and management personnel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Problem solving capabilities.
Ability to identify and implement improvements.
Experience of participating in incident investigations and use of incident management databases.
Background in QHSE support to offshore or onshore operations.
Understanding of ISO accredited QSHE integrated management systems.
