First Achieve's Engineering Division are seeking a Document Controller for their client based in Aberdeen specializing in welding engineering services, including fabrication, offshore operations, and welding solutions.

The successful candidate will manage, organize, and maintain documentation systems to ensure compliance with project standards and regulations. This role is critical in ensuring seamless communication and coordination between departments while maintaining strict control over sensitive and essential documentation.

£35 - 40k Salary, scope for 1-day WFH post probation.

The Role:

  • Organize, maintain, and control all project-related documentation, including drawings, technical specifications, contracts, and quality control records.
  • Implement and manage document control procedures for issuing, tracking, and archiving documentation.
  • Ensure accurate numbering, labeling, and version control of all documents.
  • Ensure all documentation meets relevant industry standards, client requirements, and company policies.
  • Assist in audits by providing accurate and timely documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and project teams to ensure document alignment with project requirements.
  • Distribute documentation to appropriate stakeholders, ensuring timely and controlled access to the latest information.
  • Utilize document management software (e.g., SharePoint, EDMS, or similar) for electronic filing and retrieval.
  • Train team members on document control systems and ensure consistent usage.

Requirements:

  • A diploma or degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a document control role, preferably within the fabrication, construction, or manufacturing industries.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, fabrication workflows, and technical documentation.
