Principal Chemical process engineer

Our client is a leading energies EPC with offices in numerous global locations holding term contracts with key owner operators in oil & gas exploration and production. This specific assignment is required to be based ideally in their Aberdeen head office but could possibly be based in Glasgow. They are involved in FEED, detailed design, operations and maintenance of both offshore and onshore installations. This is a principal or lead position and candidates would have to have significant experience of managing, mentoring & leading within a process engineering team.

Typical content includes, but is not limited to:

  • Process calculations
  • Process simulations (i.e. HYSYS / PRO II / UNISIM / FlareNet / PipeNET etc)
  • Flow assurance
  • Process datasheets
  • Line lists
  • Alarm & Trip Schedules
  • Preparation and update of P&IDs / PFDs
  • Preparation and update of Process and ESD Cause & Effects
  • Preparation and update of operating procedures
  • Preparation and update of control and operating philosophies / control narratives
  • Preparation and update of Hazardous Area Classification drawings
  • Process operation troubleshooting
  • Process optimization
  • Provide process input to other core discipline deliverables
  • Vendor liaison
  • HAZOP review participation and resolution / closure of resultant HAZOP actions
  • SIL / LOPA review and participation.
  • The dveloppement and mentoring of graduate and intermediate process engineers.

Applicants must hold, as a minimum:

An honours degree in chemical process engineering. Chartered engineering status would be advantageous.

A minimum of 8 years process design & optimisation experience in the UK North Sea oil and gas sector.
