This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established manufacturing group going through a period of growth and success.

My client is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician who can work unsupervised on a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment.

The ideal candidate will have an electrical bias with a good understanding of mechanical components.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Complete improvement tasks/planned maintenance
  • Fault finding; Panels, inverter, motors, switchgear, installation work, PLCs (Siemens S5 & S7)
  • Mechanical breakdowns on hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, welding, press and injection moulding experience beneficial but not essential
  • Planned maintenance, predictive maintenance, autonomous maintenance, kaizen (an advantage)
  • Understanding of legionella checks, fire alarm system checks, permits to work, risk assessments

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • 4 year indentured apprenticeship an advantage
  • City & Guilds or O.N.C in mechanical or electrical engineering a benefit
  • Lean technique knowledge (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, autonomous maintenance)
  • Appropriate IT skills (Word, Excel etc)
  • Understanding of HSE Policies
  • Problem solving techniques
  • Preventative maintenance techniques (predictive, planned)
