Financial Accountant – Global Innovator | £70,000 + 10% Bonus + Benefits | Hybrid (Oxford)

Introduction

Are you an insightful, proactive Financial Accountant with consolidation experience and a curiosity for improvement? Do you enjoy working with purpose, asking “what can we do better?” and being a real contributor—not just turning the wheel?

We are supporting an internationally recognised, fast-evolving life sciences business in their search for a capable and ambitious Financial Accountant. With operations across the UK, US, and South America, this organisation is delivering pioneering solutions in global health and food security. Now, they’re looking to strengthen their finance function with a technically sound, growth-minded professional.

This is more than a reporting role—it’s an opportunity to influence, shape, and step into future leadership.

The Role

Working closely with the Group Finance Director, the Financial Accountant will lead the monthly UK and US management accounts, deliver multi-currency group consolidations, and support core financial operations including cash flow, payroll, VAT, and systems oversight.

You’ll be embedded in a small, agile team, working across departments and regions, and playing a key role in refining reporting processes and supporting wider business insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare UK and US management accounts with full reconciliations.
  • Deliver monthly group consolidations, including FX revaluations and intercompany eliminations.
  • Collaborate with the Brazil finance team to integrate commercial sales and inventory into group reports.
  • Maintain revenue schedules and align with FP&A forecasts.
  • Produce bi-weekly consolidated cashflow, including variance analysis.
  • Coordinate monthly payroll uploads with HR and external providers.
  • Submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Liaise with third-party ERP providers to maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Manage system access for users and maintain expense platform (Concur).
  • Support the audit process and year-end financial statements.
  • Assist the Group Finance Director with ad hoc financial and business reporting needs.

This role blends core financial control with the opportunity to streamline systems and reporting as the business scales.

About You

You are detail-oriented but never lose sight of the big picture. You know what good looks like in financial reporting and are keen to challenge and improve what’s already in place.

Your background will include:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or finalist level).
  • Strong experience in management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Prior exposure to group consolidations (multi-currency preferred).
  • Confidence working across global functions and project vs commercial accounting.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central or Navision is a plus.
  • Experience using BI tools or reporting dashboards.
  • Comfortable operating in a small, hands-on finance team.

You’ll also bring:

  • A curious mindset and willingness to challenge the norm.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial data to non-finance colleagues.
  • A methodical, structured approach with high attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and resilience in a fast-moving, ever-evolving business environment.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership and is ready to build toward a more senior future position.

The Offer

This is a rare opportunity to join a globally respected organisation with a clear and meaningful mission. You’ll work with inspiring colleagues across borders and contribute to innovative work that makes a real difference.

In return, you’ll receive:

  • Base salary up to £70,000
  • 10% annual bonus
  • Strong company pension scheme
  • Life insurance and a suite of additional benefits
  • Hybrid working model (Oxford HQ)
  • Direct exposure to a highly experienced Group Finance Director
  • Real potential for progression into a leadership role

You’ll be joining a business that values its people and encourages you to question, improve, and grow.
