Role Overview – Manufacturing Technician

Our leading manufacturing client who plays a key role in the semi-conductor technology sector are looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join their team at their facility located in Abingdon. The successful candidate will be responsible for the building and test components used in microscopic systems.

Key Responsibilities – Manufacturing Technician

  • Build and test complex sub-assemblies according to detailed build and test documents.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to maintain and enhance processes and quality standards.
  • Assemble cable assemblies to IPC standards and perform soldering as required.
  • Identify and report manufacturing issues promptly.
  • Support the Manufacturing Manager in ensuring timely product delivery to customers.
  • Maintain cleanliness in production and cleanroom areas.
  • Kitting of assemblies according to BOM when needed.
  • Travel to overseas manufacturing sites as required.

Key Experience & Qualifications – Manufacturing Technician

  • Apprenticeship or equivalent in an Engineering related discipline.
  • Experience building and testing complex high-tech products.
  • Proficiency in wiring and soldering to IPC standards.
  • Understanding of the product life cycle and experience working with engineering development.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and oral technical English.
  • Good computer skills and report writing experience.
  • Willingness to travel
  • Familiarity with optical systems.
  • Knowledge of test equipment
  • Experience in a cleanroom environment.
  • Understanding of quality control and manufacturing engineering.
