Job title Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician

Job purpose
To effectively maintain manufacturing equipment and site utilities ensuring safe and continuous operation.


Principal accountabilities
• Ensure all engineering & maintenance activities meet all current EHS legislation and apply Group EHS policies.
• Support contractor & visitors by ensuring effective RAMS, permits and supervision of all maintenance activities.
• Support the procurement, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of key automated manufacturing & site plant equipment to meet agreed specifications in line with business requirements.
• Implement, document and report routine preventative maintenance schedules for both plant and machinery.
• Support reactive breakdown situations, liaising with manufacturers to ensure that adequate service and plant maintenance provisions are in place.
• Continually seek to improve existing processes in support of improving safety, increasing material utilisation, improving production outputs and minimising waste.
• To represent Operations & EHS activities where required to deputise for the Site Operations Manager.
• To carry out/take on any other duties which are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.

Scope
• Our client's Hydrogen Technologies is a customer focussed, global business dedicated to the supply of high performance fuel cell catalysts and components. The business, which is headquartered in Swindon, is a leader in its chosen markets with rapidly growing sales supported by its extensive R&D and manufacturing capabilities.
• The Hydrogen Technologies business employs approximately 190 permanent employees and 100 agency workers, primarily at Swindon and at the Technology Centre in Sonning Common, with sales representatives in the UK, USA, Korea, China and Japan.
• This role is within the engineering support team for a Manufacturing site producing and developing new to world technology, supporting a complex fast changing research, development and rapidly growing manufacturing environment as the Hydrogen Technologies business continues to evolve towards high volume manufacture and commercial success.
Special factors
• The Maintenance Engineering team work 5 days week, with occasional weekend support required
• Uniform and appropriate PPE will be provided and must be worn
• Training on specialist equipment or process will be provided

Proven knowledge of process automation equipment including PLC systems: Allen Bradley, Siemens and Mitsubishi plus Robot controls Essential
Qualified to C&G or HNC (Level 4) in electrical/mechanical engineering discipline Desirable
Electrical Installations BS7671:2008 (2382-15) 17th Edition plus Desirable
Experience of using Microsoft Office & SAP ERP Desirable
