Join our client, a prestigious police organisation, as a Procurement Specialist and play a vital role in ensuring the compliance and efficiency of their procurement processes. As a key member of their Procurement Department, you will work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality procurement services, while managing relationships with suppliers and promoting value-for-money practises.

What you'll be doing:

Professionally managing end-to-end key tenders to ensure compliance with due process.Providing expert support and expertise to Project Managers, handling the contractual and procurement aspects of projects.Evolving the organisation's commercial terms and conditions, policies, and working practises.Ensuring that non-pay/salary related spend meets the government's requirement for value-for-money and appropriate standards.Taking ownership of risks associated with procurement and working proactively to identify and manage them.Collaborating with the team and stakeholders to develop and manage beneficial working practises, improving efficiency and quality.Identifying areas for improvement in procurement processes and sharing best practises.Promoting environmental considerations in the tender process and ensuring the secure and environmentally conscious disposal of goods.Providing professional procurement advice and training to stakeholders.

What you'll bring:

Professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) and a proven track record in the procurement field.Experience in commercial and public sector procurement, with an understanding of general business issues.Knowledge of procurement across various categories, including Professional Services, IT, FM, and Travel/Fleet.Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with a working understanding of contract law.Familiarity with EU procurement legislation/regulations and modern contract forms.The ability to work autonomously with self-motivation, refining priorities, and meeting deadlines.Excellent organisational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
