If yes, then we may have an exciting opportunity for you!Hays Education are looking for a design technology technician to join the dynamic and creative technology team within this school based in the East Lancashire (Accrington) area. You will be responsible for providing timely and effective technical assistance to all teaching staff mainly within food tech and resistant materials, supporting them in achieving the aims and objectives of the department and the school. This interim role is to be worked 9am-3.30pm Monday to Friday term time only.Your new role
- Preparing, setting up and checking equipment for technology lessons.
- Supporting teaching staff and students during lessons with anything practical
- Putting away equipment after lessons and ensuring a safe environment
- Organising and storing equipment and checking stock
- Maintaining and modifying equipment as needed
- Administrative tasks such as ordering materials and stock, keeping records and updating resources
- Organising and storing students' work
What you'll need to succeed
- Relevant qualifications in art, design, technology activities or equivalent experience
- Good knowledge of design technology techniques, kitchen equipment and materials
- Commitment to health and safety in schools
- Strong commitment to supporting students' learning and achievement
