Key Responsibilities
TheBusiness Development Manager role is a hunter/farmer position responsible for prospecting and identifying new business leads, pitching and building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients. As a BDM you'll be responsible for B2B sales, driving customer acquisition, and converting leads into sales across SME, National and Blue Chip customers. BDM’s are self-starters, highly ambitious, who deliver against target.
Responsibilities include:
- Identifying new business opportunities, including new markets, new clients, new partnerships or new products and services
- Regularly prospecting for new business via self-sourced and business leads
- - generating leads and cold calling prospective customers
- Driving new customer acquisition growth by making outbound calls to prospective businesses using CRM, seeking out appropriate contacts within the organisation
- Recording all information and tracking within CRM
- Meeting with customers/clients face to face or over the phone
- Creating strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities
- Building future sales by managing a pipeline of prospects through customer relationship building and regular prospecting
- Building relationships with new clients, gauging their needs and developing proposals to address these needs
- Maintaining and developing relationships with current clients
- Pitching Herd Synergy to new and existing clients
- Being the Herd Approved specialist - pitching for and assisting other BDM’s, albeit sales will be required across the HA, HB and HC spectrum
- Attending conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners and staying abreast of new trends
- Creating sales forecasts and actively working towards reaching and exceeding them
- Possessing a strong understanding of the Herd’s solutions, the competition in the industry and positioning
- Being commercially aware and able to deliver profitable proposals that meet internal guidelines.
