Key Responsibilities

TheBusiness Development Manager role is a hunter/farmer position responsible for prospecting and identifying new business leads, pitching and building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients. As a BDM you'll be responsible for B2B sales, driving customer acquisition, and converting leads into sales across SME, National and Blue Chip customers. BDM’s are self-starters, highly ambitious, who deliver against target.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying new business opportunities, including new markets, new clients, new partnerships or new products and services
  • Regularly prospecting for new business via self-sourced and business leads
  • - generating leads and cold calling prospective customers
  • Driving new customer acquisition growth by making outbound calls to prospective businesses using CRM, seeking out appropriate contacts within the organisation
  • Recording all information and tracking within CRM
  • Meeting with customers/clients face to face or over the phone
  • Creating strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities
  • Building future sales by managing a pipeline of prospects through customer relationship building and regular prospecting
  • Building relationships with new clients, gauging their needs and developing proposals to address these needs
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with current clients
  • Pitching Herd Synergy to new and existing clients
  • Being the Herd Approved specialist - pitching for and assisting other BDM’s, albeit sales will be required across the HA, HB and HC spectrum
  • Attending conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners and staying abreast of new trends
  • Creating sales forecasts and actively working towards reaching and exceeding them
  • Possessing a strong understanding of the Herd’s solutions, the competition in the industry and positioning
  • Being commercially aware and able to deliver profitable proposals that meet internal guidelines.
