About the nursing home
An exciting opportunity has become available to join Xealthcare’s renowned care providers nursing home, located within the commutable area of Airdrie. We are currently hiring for qualified senior care assistants to cover day or nights shifts on a permanent, full-time contract.
Our clients fabulous large nursing home provides person centred care packages for elderly residents who require residential, nursing, dementia and respite care. The nursing home also specialises in Alzheimer’s care. Following their most recent CQC inspection the nursing home has been rated ‘GOOD’.
Position: Senior Care Assistant
As a senior care assistant, you will be responsible for leading and supervising a team of healthcare assistants to ensure the provision of high-quality care and assistance to our clients' residents. In addition to the responsibilities of a care assistant, you will oversee the daily operations of the care team, coordinate care plans, and act as a point of contact for the residents and their families. This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills and make a positive impact on the well-being of our clients' residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and supervising a team of healthcare assistants.
- Assisting residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Administering medication in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.
- Supporting residents with daily activities, such as meal preparation, eating, and mobility.
- Monitoring and recording residents' vital signs and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
- Providing emotional support and companionship to residents.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents.
- Collaborating effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
Requirements:
- Minimum of NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care required, candidates who are working towards this are also encouraged to apply.
- Prior experience in a care setting or similar role is preferred.
- Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine interest in the well-being of elderly individuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership abilities and the ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Respect for privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
