Junior Quantity Surveyor

Red Rock Consultants are currently working with a well-established Building and Services Contractor based in the West Midlands & Shropshire. Main clientele includes local council authorities, housing associations and private commercial projects.

Due to growth, they are currently looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team based out of their Albrighton office in East Shropshire.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Implementation, and management of efficient and effective commercial procedures across the contract.
Management of the established additional works processes to identify and capture items over and above the contract’s limit of liability.
Providing commercial insights, driving profitable growth, and supporting the delivery of the organisation’s long-term goals.
Providing support to the operations team with regards contractual commercial requirements, and any related commercial implications of non-performance.
Preparation of contract variations and client finance model.
Creation, maintenance, and enforcement of policies, procedures, and governance to manage commercial risk as well as leading contractual negotiations in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team.

Requirements:

Knowledge of contract models, e.g. Cost plus, fixed price, shared savings, GMP, etc.
Experience of assisting with the development and management of commercial processes and procedures.
Computer literate including working knowledge of MS packages. Advanced knowledge of Excel, i.e. lookups, pivot tables & reporting.
HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent.
QS background in the Building Services Sector (desirable).
Valid Drivers Licence & transport.
