Junior Quantity Surveyor

Red Rock Consultants are currently working with a well-established Building and Services Contractor based in the West Midlands & Shropshire. Main clientele includes local council authorities, housing associations and private commercial projects.

Due to growth, they are currently looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team based out of their Albrighton office in East Shropshire.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implementation, and management of efficient and effective commercial procedures across the contract.
  • Management of the established additional works processes to identify and capture items over and above the contract’s limit of liability.
  • Providing commercial insights, driving profitable growth, and supporting the delivery of the organisation’s long-term goals.
  • Providing support to the operations team with regards contractual commercial requirements, and any related commercial implications of non-performance.
  • Preparation of contract variations and client finance model.
  • Creation, maintenance, and enforcement of policies, procedures, and governance to manage commercial risk as well as leading contractual negotiations in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of contract models, e.g. Cost plus, fixed price, shared savings, GMP, etc.
  • Experience of assisting with the development and management of commercial processes and procedures.
  • Computer literate including working knowledge of MS packages. Advanced knowledge of Excel, i.e. lookups, pivot tables & reporting.
  • HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent.
  • QS background in the Building Services Sector (desirable).
  • Valid Drivers Licence & transport.
