Our client, a luxury hotel and spa, is currently recruiting a permanent Head Housekeeper. The hotel is located in the beautiful Suffolk Coast

If you are an experienced Head Housekeeper who can run an efficient and effective Housekeeping Department then look no further! My client is looking for an enthusiastic and unique individual to lead a team of 8 highly trained Housekeepers to deliver excellent standards of cleanliness and comfort.

The Head Housekeeper will report to the Operations Manager and be fully accountable for all aspects of the Housekeeping Department. You will ensure we get the very best from our team and will lead from the front. You will be detail orientated, motivated, self-driven with excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

Main duties include:

- Manage the team on a day to day basis including allocation of work, training, rotas, holiday planning and recruitment.

- Set and monitor departmental objectives to ensure high standards are maintained.

- Participate in the preparation of the departmental budgets and objectives programmes and manage the relevant budget accordingly.

- Manage, train and develop Housekeeping Team members.

- To undertake purchasing for the department within the company guidelines and undertake a monthly stock take, and action any discrepancies immediately.

- Monitor the appearance, standards and performance of Housekeeping Team with an emphasis on training and teamwork.

- Evaluate Guest satisfaction levels and monitor trends with a focus on continuous improvement.

- Inspect all guest and public areas on a regular basis to ensure that the furnishings, facilities and equipment are clean and in good repair as well as ensure highest possible standard of cleanliness, maintenance, guest room amenities at a realistic cost.

- Implement and control housekeeping procedures that provides for the Health, Safety and Security of associates and guests, such as lost property, key control, security and emergency procedures.

- Actively engage the housekeeping team to ensure they are comfortable greeting guests and associates, and are familiar with in-house facilities for the purpose of assisting guests and promoting sales so that guests receive prompt and cordial attention.

Person Specification:

- Previous experience as a housekeeper/supervisor desired

- Knowledge of working within a hotel environment.

- Excellent management skills
