We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroller for our client North Derbyshire to take full responsibility for processing multiple payrolls, including both weekly and monthly cycles. The successful candidate will ensure payroll is accurate, compliant, and delivered on time while providing key support on payroll-related projects and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Payroll Processing: Manage and process multiple payrolls (weekly & monthly) efficiently and accurately
  • Compliance & Legislation: Ensure payroll is compliant with all HMRC regulations, including PAYE, NIC, RTI, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP)
  • Pensions & Benefits Administration: Manage auto-enrolment pension contributions and other employee benefits deductions
  • Payroll Reporting: Generate and review payroll reports, including reconciliations, payroll journals, and variance analysis
  • Query Resolution: Address payroll-related queries from employees, managers, and external bodies in a timely and professional manner
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving payroll processes, increasing efficiency, and ensuring best practices
  • Year-End Activities: Handle P60s, P45s, P11Ds, and annual reporting requirements.
  • Liaison with External Providers: Work closely with pension providers, HMRC, auditors, and third-party vendors where necessary
