- Take ownership of the health and safety of the department and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and embedding standards and procedures and comply with legal regulations.
- Undertake engagement activities to actively involve employees in owning their own health and safety and that of their colleagues.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety by actively promoting our safety rules and guidelines.
- Manage the day to day activities of the extrusion department, supporting Works Managers, Supervisor and operatives. Ensure adherence to the production plan, using all necessary resources to meet operational needs and targets.
- Control all aspects of the production process including quality, environmental and health and safety aspects. Ensure there is sufficient skills and competencies available to meet operational objectives.
- Work closely with Health & Safety, HR, Toolroom and Engineering departments.
- Provide specialist technical advice and support on all aspects of extrusion processes.
- Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department
