Chase & Holland are delighted to support one of our best clients in the East Midlands in the recruitment of Production Manager to join their multi award-winning team. The Production Manager is a member of the Operations Management Team and will maintain the highest levels of production activities leading and co-ordinating resources in the department to ensure all production is managed efficiently and effectively, on time and in line with quality standards.Purpose of Role:The Production Manager will provide strong leadership across the department and will be responsible for managing all aspects of safety, people, manufacturing processes, quality and supporting the production team.Main duties and responsibilities:Health and Safety
  • Take ownership of the health and safety of the department and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and embedding standards and procedures and comply with legal regulations.
  • Undertake engagement activities to actively involve employees in owning their own health and safety and that of their colleagues. 
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety by actively promoting our safety rules and guidelines. 
Day to Day Activities
  • Manage the day to day activities of the extrusion department, supporting Works Managers, Supervisor and operatives. Ensure adherence to the production plan, using all necessary resources to meet operational needs and targets.
  • Control all aspects of the production process including quality, environmental and health and safety aspects. Ensure there is sufficient skills and competencies available to meet operational objectives.
  • Work closely with Health & Safety, HR, Toolroom and Engineering departments.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and support on all aspects of extrusion processes. 
  • Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department 
Key Skills & Knowledge:
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Microsoft Application, ERP or SAP systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with daily targets
  • Problem solving skills 
  • Great communication skills across all levels of a manufacturing business
  • IOSH or NEBOSH HS qualification
