Senior Electrical Engineer

Our client has a requirement for a Senior Electrical Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Bristol.
Role Purpose:
To provide electrical engineering expertise across a variety of projects, supporting project delivery in the Midlands, Southwest & Wales region. The role involves designing and specifying electrical building services systems while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practices.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Interpret and understand project briefs.
- Design and specify electrical building services systems, including power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, and lightning protection.
- Conduct and oversee detailed calculations using software tools such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and Excel.
- Prepare technical specifications using NBS.
- Work with BIM teams and use Autodesk Revit for design development.
- Conduct site surveys, inspections, and monitor site works.
- Prepare reports and technical notes.
- Maintain compliance with quality, environmental, and governance processes.
- Manage workload, project deliverables, and budget considerations.
- Support the technical development of junior staff.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Chartered Engineer status (CIBSE or IET preferred).
- Proficient in Amtech/Prodesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS, and Microsoft packages (HV tools beneficial).
- Knowledge of energy reduction methods, decarbonisation, and building physics principles.
- Experience with measurement, verification, commissioning, and post-installation evaluation.
- Previous experience in a design consultancy or contractor design environment.
- Strong understanding of technical standards and regulations.
- Ability to manage project deliverables, work independently, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent report writing, presentation, and client communication skills.
