Job Title:Assistant Buyer
Location:Bristol

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Buyer to join a market leading company within the house building sector. An instantly recognisable name within the industry, with customer service excellence at the core of everything they do. With exciting new developments coming up, they are looking for someone who can progress and grow with the company.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and procure all materials, superstructure sub-contractors and plant to ensure that the business unit output programme is carried out professionally and within budget.
  • Ensure adequate resources on site to build the product in accordance with the planned programme.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance and take any appropriate action.
  • Benchmark tenders to ensure that market value is being achieved.
  • Maintain budgets on a monthly basis, alongside the QS.

Required Skills:

  • Application of Best Practice Procurement Tools and Techniques.
  • Awareness of Building Regulations, NHBC requirements and Health & Safety Legislation.
  • IT literate - including Microsoft Office and web-basedapplications.
  • Experience in the procurement and purchase of materials, sub-contractor and plant is preferred.
  • Some experience in design packages would be beneficial.
