As Head Chef you will be the lynchpin of our food operation. Leading the team, youwill add your experience, wisdom and creativity into the mix. Working with bothour indoor kitchen and outdoor fire kitchen youll create fabulous, fresh dishesusing the best of seasonal, local ingredients sourced from local suppliers andthe kitchen garden tended by our own team. As Head Chef, you will take fullcontrol of the kitchen and be responsible for menu development and overallmanagement of the people and the spaces. This is an opportunity to truly makeyour mark and youll be supported every step of the way by the independent owners. Beautiful live-in accommodation is available onsite (in a stunning countryside location) for those wishing to relocate.
Job requirementsYoull need to be a talented chef with a passion for fresh ingredients, a greateye for presentation in a rustic style and a love of kitchen camaraderie. Youll beable to bring out the best in others and youll take immense pride in everysuccessful service. A hygiene qualification, excellent food knowledge andproven allergen awareness are all essential for this role. An interest in andknowledge of fire and grill cooking, smoking, foraging and tending a kitchengarden would also be advantageous. You must be able to thrive underpressure, have great communication skills, and be able to lead a team, settingyourself and others the highest standards. Proven experience as a Head or Senior Sous Chef in a similar operation is essential for this role.

The Tichborne Arms is an independent country pub and gardens by award-winning pub entrepreneurs Susie and Joel Czopor, a husband and wife team. The couple are genuinely passionate about hospitality - being good hosts is something that has always feltinherently important to them. What do we do?Good hospitality is pretty straightforward, but were amazed at how often pubs dont get it right. A great pub should appeal to all. It should be clean, comfortable, warm and inviting. Service should be friendly, efficient and genuine. You want to feel that the person serving you cares that youre having a good time. Food should be delicious, generous, prepared with care and at a price that is not exclusive. The choice of drinks should be broad without being overwhelming, all correctly served. Local suppliers should be represented in the menu, drinks offer and surroundings. The local community should feel at home. In a nutshell, that is what we're here to create and maintain.
