Job Title: Process Operator (Water Treatment)

Location: Hampshire

The Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Process Operator to join our team working on a water treatment plant project for Southern Water in Hampshire. You will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the plant, contributing to the provision of clean water for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plant Operations & Monitoring:

* Monitor and control the operation of water treatment plant equipment and systems according to established procedures.
* Ensure the plant is operating safely and efficiently.
* Identify and respond to any deviations from normal plant operation.
* Monitor and interpret data from the Site SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system.
* Record data and observations accurately in logbooks and plant records.
* Carry out routine checks and inspections of plant equipment and systems.

  • Troubleshooting:

* Identify and troubleshoot potential problems with plant equipment and systems.
* Initiate corrective actions as required to restore normal operations.

  • Safety and Compliance:

* Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and procedures, including working in confined spaces, wearing personal protective equipment, and following company safety protocols.
* Ensure all work is performed in a safe and compliant manner.
* Report any safety hazards or concerns promptly.

  • Teamwork:

* Work collaboratively with other members of the operations team, engineers, and maintenance personnel.
* Communicate effectively and follow instructions from supervisors.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential:

* Current Water Hygiene (Blue) Card.
* Experience in operating water treatment plants or related facilities.
* Strong understanding of water treatment processes and technologies.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Desirable:

* Experience with SCADA systems and control systems.
* Knowledge of water quality monitoring and analysis.
* First Aid certification.
* Experience in a 24/7 operational environment.
