Join Our Team as a Nursery Practitioner at Alton College Nursery!Are you passionate about early childhood development and eager to make a lasting difference in young lives? Alton College Nursery is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to become part of our caring and dynamic team.We offer outstanding day care for children aged six months to five years, nurturing curiosity, play, and growth in a warm and welcoming environment. With space for up to 28 children at a time, we provide a "home from home" experience. Our nursery operates from 8 am to 5 pm during term time, laying the foundation for lifelong learning.Responsibilities You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all requirements of OFSTED and other statutory bodies are met, including safeguarding, children’s well-being and health and safety requirements
  • To be a Key Person to a small group of children, to build an attachment with the child and parents.
  • To provide safe and stimulating play in the Nursery through daily routines, ensuring all children are treated as individuals and are provided with a rich environment following their interests and learning style.Where they can learn and develop making progress towards the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • To keep individual Learning Journal for each Key Child, recording observations, something that the child has achieved for the first time, specific dialogue and anything that is significant to the child’s independent learning.To share the observations with the parents and together decide on 'what comes next’ for the child.The Key Person is responsible for sharing any developmental concerns with the Manager/Deputy and SENCO
  • To take part in training to ensure keeping up to date with new legislation and the recommended guidelines from OFSTED
  • Comply with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, Nursery and College Policies and Procedures

Requirements

You will need:

  • A Childcare qualification level 2 or above
  • A good level of Education in English and Maths
  • Knowledge of EYFS
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Enthusiastic and energetic
  • Passion for childcare and development
