They are looking to hire a Finance Manager on a permanent basis. This position can from 22.5 - 37.5 hours.The individual will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations. This role is key to providing the Partners with regular financial information and ensuring both internal and external compliance is met. The firm is looking for someone willing to support the practice and administrative matters more widely, a team player with self-motivation. The role needs a person to work in a consistent, accurate and efficient manner, with minimal supervision.

Duties of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Overall management responsibility for the finance function.
  • Manage and supervise a staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality work output.
  • Production of monthly management accounts, KPI's and other financial reports.
  • Provide monthly billing targets to Managers.
  • Provide weekly cashflow forecasts to Partners.
  • Prepare the annual budget for Partner review and input.
  • Maintain intercompany reconciliations for 3 entities.
  • Maintain an overview of the sales ledger including credit control.
  • Maintain an overview of the purchase ledger including invoice authorisations and supplier statement reconciliation.
  • First sign off for monthly supplier payments.
  • Expenses and disbursement management for the firm.
  • Preparation and submission of monthly Payroll including Pension administration.
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.

Candidate must have the following to be considered for the role:

  • ACCA/ ACA qualification or QBE (Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on general practice management).
  • Previous managerial/supervisory experience.
  • Proactive and organised to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Full understanding of accountancy practice measures including the interaction between charge out rates, sales, WIP, write offs and bad debts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Intermediate Microsoft excel skills e.g. Xlookup, Pivot tables, graphing.
  • Experience using IRIS software for practice management reporting.
  • Experience with Xero, Dext, Fathom or ApprovalMax software.
