Assembly Technician Workshop Supervisor

Location: Four Marks

Salary: £30,000 negotiation

Full time position: 40 hours a week

Role overview

The successful candidate will lead by example, working with the assembly team to create and maintain an efficient, safe environment. They will have strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. They must also demonstrate proficiency in using hand tools and measuring instruments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assembling mechanical and electrical components to build products on the assembly line according to engineering drawings and instructions.
  • Understanding assembly processes and procedures and ensure they are kept to within the assembly team
  • Assigning jobs to team members based on skills and workload.
  • Monitor and maintain a high level of build quality within the team
  • Ensuring work schedules are met
  • Handle first level technical issues, keeping work flowing, reporting more complex issues to the Engineering team
  • Maintaining a tidy and efficient workshop
  • Opening and shutting down the workshop
  • Representing the assembly team at management level discussions.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficient in hand tools, measuring instruments and electrical testing equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow engineering drawings
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills
