Our client, a well-established retailer, now has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Garment Technologist to join their busy team based in South Manchester.

You will endure all products within your category accurately match the Company specifications, in terms of sizing, quality and performance and provide a consistent quality and fit to the customer base.

You will have bundles of passion and energy to work within the Garment Technology department to contribute to successfully driving the ranges.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the day to day running of the department
  • Creating fully graded size specifications and garment sketches of products including key details
  • Manage the intake of samples and prepare samples for the fit meetings
  • Fitting on live models this will be on both with the Buyers, providing concise fit and quality amendment comments to the suppliers
  • Fitting will be on Male & Female models and we need to ensure that the fit and comfort is achievable across both genders.
  • Managing all products through the sealing process from initial fit to production and postproduction.
  • Specifying care label information and all packaging details
  • Instigating/analysing test reports with recommendations
  • Regular liaison with our Distribution Centre Quality Control team
  • Continually analysing returns information on products, especially by colour, making suggestions for improvements to fit, quality and performance especially in light that this is a multipurpose unisex product.
  • Supporting Customer Services and Retail stores with any technical queries

The Successful Candidate will:

  • Work experience in the industry and at least five years’ experience within a Garment Technology role
  • Enthusiasm and determination, with a passion for Garment Technology
  • Team spirit and a positive attitude
  • Confidence in communicating, in order to maintain a strong working relationship with all departments and suppliers
  • Strong MS Office Excel skills
  • A Self Starter approach to the role with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Coral Draw/Adobe illustrator skills (desirable but not essential)
