Our Family Law department is busy and thriving, and we are currently looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to support our team of expert family law solicitors.Job Description:We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join our busy and dynamic Family Law department. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a top-tier firm, offering comprehensive support to our family law solicitors and legal teams.While experience in family law is not essential, a strong background in legal secretarial work is required. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a high level of professionalism, and a proactive attitude. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of the department, assisting with administrative tasks, and ensuring the team is fully supported.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive secretarial support to solicitors and fee earners in the Family Law department.
  • Audio typing and transcription of legal documents, correspondence, and court bundles.
  • Organize and manage diaries, appointments, and meetings for the family law team.
  • Draft and proofread documents, letters, and forms.
  • Maintain and organize files, ensuring that all documents are accurately filed and accessible.
  • Liaise with clients, both in person and by phone, ensuring that queries are handled professionally and efficiently.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks, including photocopying, scanning, and filing.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times and adhere to strict legal and firm guidelines.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally in a busy legal environment.
  • Strong audio typing skills with a fast typing speed and excellent accuracy.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using legal software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures is essential.
  • A proactive, professional, and client-focused approach to work.
