Temporary Caretaker (Cover for Absence)

Location: Altrincham, Cheshire
Duration: 2 Weeks (Possibly Longer)
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Flexible, between 07:30 – 19:30 (7.5 hour shifts)

We are seeking a temporary Caretaker to assist in covering for a period of absence within our clients team. This role offers an immediate start and could extend beyond the initial two weeks, depending on requirements.

The successful candidate will play an essential role in assisting and deputising for the Site Manager to maintain a safe, clean, and pleasant environment conducive to the provision of education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with small maintenance tasks, cleaning, litter picking, and general site upkeep.
• Supervise and coordinate cleaning staff.
• Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to at all times.
• Liaise with onsite contractors and oversee their work.
• Maintain the security of the premises and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Assist with site management, including ensuring the operation of heating, lighting, and security systems.
• Carry out regular site inspections and address any issues immediately to ensure a safe and clean environment.
• Carry out emergency cleaning duties and supervise the cleaning rota.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a caretaking or maintenance role, ideally within an educational setting.
• Enhanced DBS
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible approach to working hours.
• Commitment to health and safety and safeguarding standards.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Must be able to cover Site Manager duties during periods of absence.
