We are seeking a nurturing and dedicated candidate that offer extra support to ensure their individual needs are being met. This role will also be vital to make sure the academic, emotional status of the children are being monitored and the pupils can progress their learning with guidance.

As a Behaviour Support Specialist, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other support staff to provide targeted assistance to students who require additional support with their behaviour management and social skills development. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour and creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and able to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Provide one-to-one small group support to students with behavioural difficulties, helping them manage their emotions and develop coping strategies.
  • Implement individual behaviour plans and strategies, in collaboration with the SENCO and class teachers, to support them.
  • Create class work material and deliver the activities to a high standard.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support, preferably with a focus on behaviour support or SEN and a relevant qualification in special educational needs.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the well-being and development of the pupils.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques, as well as understanding the principles of positive behaviour support.
