Overview
Our client based in Luton is seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fitter to join there team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in welding and fabrication. This role involves working with various materials, including sheet metal, and utilising hand tools and power tools to assemble and fabricate components according to specifications. The successful applicant will be committed to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in all tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate welding equipment, including stick welding techniques, to join metal components effectively.
  • Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Utilise hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and finish materials as required.
  • Perform inspections of completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while meeting deadlines.
  • Apply basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Welder/Fitter or in a similar role within the manufacturing or construction industry.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
