Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain the successful applicant will have excellent attention to detail and be excellent at working with and interpreting data.
You will be expected to be forward thinking and be capable of looking for opportunities to improve current ways of working. Often the requirements & requests from other departments are of a critical and time dependent nature and therefore an appreciation of urgency is essential.
The role requires the individual to work closely with the Operations, Sales & R&D teams and also within a small purchasing team, so the ability to work successfully as part of a team is imperative.
The Role:
- Analysis of stock queries, understanding the root cause and proposing corrective actions to avoid repeats.
- Reporting and Analysis of stock valuation, highlighting issues and opportunities with system accuracy and margin reporting.
- Championing stock optimisation and pushing the business to act on stock reduction opportunities.
- Management of the ECR (Engineering Change Register) process from an operational perspective, joining together R&D, Purchasing and Operations.
- Dealing with supplier phone calls and ownership of a group of products within the supply chain.
- Data entry and accurate system recording. Challenging the data to identify opportunities.
- Carry out forecasting of all finished goods and components using the tools provided and also use their skills to improve this where possible.
- Cover of production planning and purchasing in the absence of others.
- Support other areas of the business when necessary.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Pursues work proactively with drive and suggests ways to improve processes to fulfil the department's needs.
- Tenacity to dig into data. Finding ways of extracting data and acting on it is key to the success of the role.
- Experience of working within a fast-paced supply chain environment.
- Advanced experience of MS Office, particularly Excel. (Use of pivot tables, V-lookups, formulas).
- Drive to improve Key Performance indicator results.
- Adapts to varying work situations and is flexible in the approach to resolving challenges.
- Good spoken and written English with the ability to effectively communicate complex issues to people at all levels within the organisation.
- Knowledge of MRP system management.
- Previous experience in the manufacturing industry. An understanding of Bill of Materials.
- Experience with reading engineering drawings.
This is a full time onsite permanent role offering 35,000 - 40,000 (DOE) and benefits including free parking.
