Music Teacher (Part Timer)

 

A SEN School in Andover is offering an extensive curriculum to the students and currently require an enthusiastic and committed music teacher. You will have a flexible, creative and practical approach to learning and be responsible for developing individualised / small group programs. Class sizes are small, between 6 and 8 students with dedicated TA support. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

We are ideally looking for someone to work 2 days per week (Thursday & Friday), teaching to Key Stage 3 and also teaching piano and other instruments in individual sessions.

An understanding of Autism Spectrum Condition and/or experience of working with children with additional needs is an advantage, however training can be given. Previous teaching experience is preferred, but is not essential and applications from newly qualified teachers are welcome.

 

Teaching Requirements:

  • Experienced teaching up to GCSE level (English or Maths preferable but not essential)
  • Teaching certification or qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
  • Flexibility, creativity, and adaptability to thrive in our busy school environment
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to our pupils' diverse needs
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of current research in education
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for building strong relationships with staff and pupils
  • Strong IT skills and ability to lead others proactively
