Reed Education Southampton are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Girls' PE to fulfil a permanent, full-time position within a 'Good' Secondary school, based in Andover!

The school has an excellent reputation within the local community, boasting fantastic facilities including a Multi-Use Games Area, recently refurbished library and gymnasium, expansive grounds and so much more! They have recently opened their renovated 'Inclusion Space' which has bespoke classrooms and break-out space for their nurture and SEND students. The school pride themselves on a culture of high support and expectations, and have excellent relationships with families and the community who work closely with the school.

As the Teacher of Girls' PE, your role is critical in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, facilitating a positive learning environment where the students feel supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. You will design engaging lessons, assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to raise standards of student attainment. You will collaborate with other teaching staff, pastoral staff and parents to support the personal development of students, addressing their individual needs and promoting inclusivity. 

What are the requirements for the role?

  • Qualified Teacher Status and a degree in a relevant subject
  • Able to identify clear learning objectives, content and lesson structures in order to plan and deliver engaging lessons to students
  • Promote high standards of literacy, oracy and the correct use of Standard English
  • Able to give students regular verbal and written feedback to respond to, guiding them to reflect on their progress
  • Able to use formative and summative assessment to secure students' progress
  • Be IT literate, and a secure knowledge and understanding of what an excellent education looks like
  • Adaptable and flexible
