We are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner on behalf of our well established client in Ashbourne. This is a full time, permanent position with progression opportunities.

Shift pattern: 4 on 4 off. Hours within this shift pattern are Mon - Fri: 7am - 5pm and Sat - Sun 6am - 4pm (Average of 35 hours per week) Overtime paid at time and a half.

Job Purpose:

To fully utilise all vehicles and services available, to plan and deliver all programmed tonnage to farm on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business e.g. reduction of waste, recycling etc.

To ensure all farm orders are delivered on time as planned.

Input orders onto the system.

Communicate effectively with farmers.

To fully meet order requirements and effectively communicate to the appropriate parties internal and external any necessary deviations.

Strive to work within the allocated transport budget and KPI's.

Actively seek to improve systems, performance and reduce costs.

Monitor that all drivers are suitably trained, equipped, and mentored to ensure legal compliance at all times.

Ensure all records are suitably filed to comply with audit and legal requirements.

To ensure that all work carried out by the mill drivers and 3rd party fully comply with company the health and safety and environmental policies whilst on site and farms.

Able to provide out of hours mobile phone cover.

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of Microsoft Packages
  • Decisive decision making
  • Organised
  • Experience with planning software (desirable)
  • Experience in Transport Planning (desirable)
  • Good interpersonal skills
