About the Role
My client is seeking a passionate and technically skilled Remote Optimisation Engineer to join their Remote Optimisation Centre (ROC) based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. The ROC is a key driver in delivering real-time, measurable energy and carbon savings through ongoing monitoring and optimisation of client systems.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering first-class technical support, conducting remote diagnostics and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), and supporting energy-saving initiatives across various sectors. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for client support requests, managing helpdesk queries and ensuring timely resolution or escalation of issues.
- Carry out remote diagnostics and PPM activities including software backups, set point adjustments, and fault resolution via BMS systems.
- Generate detailed reports on service activities and findings.
- Conduct basic remote energy investigations using analytics tools (e.g., overheating, cooling inefficiencies, passing valves).
- Adjust HVAC, lighting, and refrigeration systems for improved operational efficiency using IQ Vision and other BMS tools.
- Support on-site engineers through remote assistance during fault investigation and resolution.
- Manage incidents through third-party portal processes and internal CAFM systems.
- Maintain accurate system and client data through regular administrative updates.
- Foster strong relationships with clients and internal teams through professional and timely communication.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives by sharing knowledge and participating in ongoing training and development.
Required Skills & Experience
- Solid understanding of HVAC and mechanical plant operations.
- Proficient in BMS programming and familiar with IQ Vision and other supervisory tools.
- Strong analytical and fault-finding skills.
- Awareness of energy performance targets and sustainability metrics.
- Excellent IT literacy and administrative capabilities.
- High level of attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – able to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and third-party providers.
- Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Alignment with ethical standards and a passion for environmental and/or social impact.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience in remote support roles or energy monitoring.
- Familiarity with CAFM systems.
