M&E Buyer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced M&E Buyer to join a well-established, family-run business based in Kent. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in procurement within the mechanical and electrical sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage project procurement, including issuing Purchase Orders via Sage.

  • Maintain and update Project Requisition Books.

  • Create and oversee Call-Off Schedules/Trackers.

  • Develop Material Journey Plans for newly secured projects, including delivery logistics.

  • Update and maintain Purchase Order Trackers.

  • Obtain material quotations to support Estimating, Commercial, and Customer Care teams.

  • Support Value Engineering (VE) processes during tenders and project execution.

  • Handle technical submissions, including data sheets, technical information, and lead times.

  • Prepare sample boards and samples as required by the design team.

  • Interpret project specifications, schedules, and tender requirements for VE and material planning.

  • Negotiate optimal rates, rebates, settlements, credit limits, and terms & conditions with suppliers (with management approval).

  • Create and manage 1st Fix, 2nd Fix, and Final Kits for bulk orders.

  • Oversee PPE management, including stock takes and reordering.

  • Ensure Proof of Deliveries (PODs) are accurately recorded.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, both new and existing.

  • Regularly review surplus stock to identify reusable, returnable, or resalable materials.

  • Conduct site visits to assess and manage spare materials for potential reuse.

  • Arrange pallet and cable drum collections as needed.
