Job title: Service Team Manger

Salary: 40,000 - 50,000 DOE

Location: Ashford, Kent. This position is office based. You will be required to visit Engineers across the UK, as 10-20% part of the role.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm

Annual leave: 20 days

In this exciting role, you will lead a team of 8 remote service engineers across the UK and 2 Service Schedulers in the office, ensuring that operations run smoothly while exceeding customer expectations. Your leadership will help cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence that drives success.

Your daily duties would be to:

  • Efficiently coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of Service Engineers across the UK.
  • Manage workloads to ensure a balanced distribution of tasks.
  • Tackle operational bottlenecks and scheduling conflicts swiftly.
  • Track and analyse performance metrics, including response times and customer satisfaction.
  • Offer day-to-day guidance and motivation to your team.
  • Conduct engaging one-on-one meetings and dynamic team reviews.
  • Create and implement training plans for continual skill enhancement.
  • Promote a collaborative environment where excellence thrives.
  • Prepare insightful performance reports for senior management.
  • Develop corrective actions to address any areas needing improvement.
  • Oversee all service interactions to guarantee professionalism and effectiveness.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex issues or customer complaints.
  • Collaborate with your team to devise solutions and provide timely feedback.
  • Continuously scout for ways to elevate service delivery processes.
  • Work alongside other departments to streamline workflows and enhance quality.
  • Advocate for safety practises among service engineers operating in the field.

Skills required to be successful for this role:

  • Proven background managing remote teams in service across the UK or technical environments.
  • Strong expertise in scheduling and operational coordination.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
