A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and career-oriented Transport Supervisor to join a successful, well-established and market-leading business on a full time, permanent basis in Northfleet, Kent.
This is a Mon to Fri position, 1pm to 9.30/10pm, Mon to Fri (with some degree of flexibility required).

Directly reporting into the Logistics Manager, you will work within a small transport team and provide essential support in ensuring that legislative requirements are adhere to, that drivers' hours are fully compliant and that relevant data regarding transport checks, defect reporting, servicing and MOT's as well as H&S legislation is complied with. As Transport Supervisor you will ensure route optimisation savings are achieved and all routes are profitable, ensuring the use of agency drivers is kept to a minimum. In addition, you will also make certain that corrective actions are investigated, analysed and actioned to continuously improve working practices.
You will liaise daily with your driving and transport team, debrief and support wherever possible to ensure that the operation runs smoothly as a legally compliant and cost-effective logistics department. You will deputise for the Logistics Manager when required. You should be prepared to challenge the status quo to suggest ways in which the department, and success of the team can be made better and your input with regards to creative solutions to problems will be encouraged.
