Production Manager
Location: Ashford
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Manager to oversee our production department. The successful candidate will manage personnel, equipment, and resources for customer-specific, one-off manufacturing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the production team and workshop areas, including maintenance and organisation
- Collaborate with the engineering department to manage production schedules and meet contract deadlines
- Ensure production stays within budget and maintain quality control standards
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and the admin department for shipments and cost estimates
- Implement the Company Safety Policy and maintain a safe working environment
- Attend management meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
Requirements:
- A background in engineering
- Minimum 5 years of management experience
- Strong knowledge of Health and Safety in a workshop setting
- Experience in planning production schedules for large-scale projects
- Excellent organisational skills
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in preparing equipment for international shipping
- Knowledge of machining and inspection procedures
- Experience in negotiating with subcontractors
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and email communication
