Hunter AHP Resourcing is currently recruiting for an experienced Oncology Pharmacist to join a well-established NHS hospital in Kent. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified pharmacist with oncology experience to make a real impact in a dynamic hospital pharmacy team.   • Position: Oncology Pharmacist
  • Location: NHS Hospital, Kent
  • Pay Rate: £31 to £35 per hour (dependent on experience)
  • Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday. Part-time availability considered
  • Start Date: ASAP (ongoing position)
  • Experience Level: Previous experience in oncology pharmacy is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert pharmaceutical advice and support to oncology teams, including consultants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Reviewing and dispensing chemotherapy prescriptions, ensuring appropriate drug choice, dosing, and administration routes
  • Supporting the preparation and dispensing of cytotoxic medications and ensuring safe handling procedures are followed
  • Conducting clinical reviews of oncology patients, including reviewing medication therapy and identifying potential drug interactions
  • Offering pharmaceutical expertise on managing side effects and drug regimens for cancer patients
  • Participating in oncology multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings and supporting treatment planning
  • Advising on the safe and effective use of oncology medications, including chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and immunotherapies
  • Supporting stock management and procurement of oncology medications, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained
  • Ensuring compliance with NHS guidelines, safety protocols, and regulatory standards
  • Contributing to oncology audits, clinical trials, and patient safety initiatives

Requirements:

  • GPhC registration
  • Proven experience working in an oncology pharmacy setting, ideally within an NHS hospital
  • Knowledge of chemotherapy protocols, cytotoxic drug preparation, and safe handling practices
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to work independently and manage a complex caseload of patients
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
