Quantity Surveyor - Highway Project - Kent
A leading civil engineering firm, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a major highway project in Kent. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a project that will enhance the region's transportation network and contribute to its economic development.
What You'll Do:
- Play a crucial role in the financial management of the project, ensuring cost-effective execution while adhering to budgets and timelines.
- Manage contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Monitor and analyze project costs, identifying and mitigating potential variances, and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Evaluate and manage claims from subcontractors and suppliers, negotiating settlements and potentially preparing claims on behalf of the company.
- Provide regular reports on cost performance to project managers and stakeholders, offering insights and recommendations.
- Contribute to the development of the overall commercial strategy for the project.
What We Need:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on highway or road construction projects.
- A strong understanding of construction contracts, including NEC3 and JCT contracts.
- Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and financial management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with colleagues and subcontractors.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a commitment to achieving project goals on time and within budget.
