Our client, an esteemed organisation in the medical equipment manufacturing sector, is seeking a dedicated Senior Engineer to join their team. This is a permanent position within the engineering department, primarily focused on the improvement of on market medical devices and solutions.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and execution of engineering activities of advanced scope or degree of difficulty. This includes overseeing medium to large components or systems as part of significant projects.
  • Perform engineering work requiring full competency in all conventional aspects, making independent evaluations, selections and adaptations of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot tasks related to product problems and oversee design testing and evaluation, ensuring technical work meets specified requirements.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation associated with engineering activities including CAD designs and project documentation.
  • Manage testing procedures for assigned projects and contribute to the development of corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, good business practices, and company procedures.
  • Actively participate in and promote Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and proactively support CAPA, NCR & PMRA activities.


Team Leader Responsibilities:

  • Perform tasks such as administrative duties, organising employee schedules, monitoring and evaluating employee performance and leading team members.
  • Collaborate on developing improvement plans, monitoring progress and delegating employee assignments.
  • Ensure team resources are correctly allocated and promptly highlight any gaps to management.


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in the medical devices sector, particularly in development and manufacturing.
  • Scientific University Degree (BS degree) in engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills, which include CAD design and extensive engineering expertise.
  • Outstanding problem-solving and analytical abilities, with the capability to critically review and interpret technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective verbal and written conveyance of ideas and concepts.
  • Ability to lead and develop entry-level engineers by sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities, meet key deadlines, and maintain attention to detail under pressure.
  • Understanding and adherence to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).


Work Environment:

  • Ashford office-based position with potential for remote working, subject to agreement with line manager.
  • Minimal travel requirements, typically less than 10% of the time.
