A Local Authority in Ashford is seeking a Housing Options Service Lead to provide strategic and operational leadership across homelessness, temporary accommodation, and allocations services.THE ROLEAs the Housing Options Service Lead, you will oversee the council’s housing options service, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and implementing strategies to reduce homelessness.
  • Lead the development and implementation of homelessness prevention strategies
  • Manage operational budgets and maximise funding opportunities
  • Oversee the allocation of housing, including social lettings agency functions
  • Develop and monitor service improvement strategies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with housing providers and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with housing legislation, appeals, and reviews
  • Represent the Housing Service at internal and external meetings
THE CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar leadership role within housing, with a strong understanding of homelessness legislation and housing allocations.
  • Proven experience managing teams and budgets within a housing setting
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
  • Experience in conducting formal legal reviews of housing decisions
  • Ability to develop and implement service improvement initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
THE CONTRACT
  • Temporary - 3 months. Potential to be made permanent
  • Full-time - 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
  • Hybrid working – 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
  • The pay range for the role is £45.00 to £47.00 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £38.36 to £40.07 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
