Salary: Up to £40,000 (dependent on experience) + Bonus Scheme

We are growing and are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Resource Manager to join our dynamic team in Ashford, Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional with a background in rail and recruitment to take on a pivotal role in a fast-paced, high-performing environment.

As a Resource Manager, you will play a key role in managing the deployment of skilled operatives, building strong relationships with clients and contractors, and ensuring our workforce meets the highest safety and compliance standards. This role requires a proactive, hands-on approach and a strong understanding of both the rail industry and recruitment processes.

Key Responsibilities

Labour Delivery and Workforce Management

  • Managing and deploying a team of skilled operatives to fulfil client orders accurately and on time.
  • Overseeing the recruitment and selection process – sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates through various methods, including online job boards, social media, and direct sourcing.
  • Ensuring all operatives are assessed for competency, skills, and experience prior to deployment.
  • Managing training requirements to ensure that all workers hold the necessary certifications and accreditations.
  • Coordinating vehicle and fuel utilisation to optimise efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date workforce database, ensuring all records comply with company and industry standards.

Client Relationship Management and Business Growth

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for client accounts, building and maintaining long-term relationships.
  • Attending client meetings (sales, delivery, and review) alongside the Department Manager to understand client needs and ensure service excellence.
  • Identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts and securing additional business through lead generation and follow-ups.
  • Providing clients with expert advice and solutions on workforce planning and resourcing.

Safety and Compliance

  • Conducting regular site safety audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Delivering safety briefings to the workforce and ensuring that all operatives are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Verifying all operatives' right to work in the UK and ensuring they are appropriately sponsored before deployment.
  • Ensuring all operational activities align with Ganymede’s management systems and HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental) policies.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a confident and experienced professional with a solid background in the rail industry and recruitment. You will need to be highly organised, commercially aware, and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience in the rail industry, ideally within a recruitment or resource management role.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment processes, including direct sourcing, social media recruitment, and online advertising.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proven ability to assess candidate suitability and manage screening criteria.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — confident in managing client relationships and building rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience managing training and development needs for a large workforce.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify new business opportunities and drive revenue growth.
